Wrath Wines
This is a Mecca winery for us. We have been buying the drinking Wrath wines for years. We have a small collection of them. But we had never been to the winery before — until now.
There are two tasting rooms for Wrath. We went to the one in Carmel by the Sea. It’s a lovely town and just packed with tourists on a holiday weekend. But Wrath’s tasting room was not packed, thankfully.
The tasting room isn’t large and it’s not flashy. But it doesn’t need to be. Once they pour you your first pinot of the day, you just shut up and become mesmerized.
The staff knew several people in our party, so we were treated very well. We tried just about everything they had open. They were between vintages, selling the remainder of the 2021s. 22s were about to be released. But some of the ’21 pinots were astoundingly good. And the price point is silly compared to more other pinot-heavy places. I think $51 dollars was about the highest we say there. Compare to just about any other pinot shop out there. This is a real treat.
