Alexandria Nicole

There are so many tasting rooms now up in the Bothel area near Seattle.  The area is called Woodin Creek.  It’s a wine tasters paradise with housing wrapped around tasting rooms and restaurants — the whole thing totally walkable.

There are a number of Alexandria Nicole tasting rooms.  But we chose to visit this one.  We are glad we did.  The staff were funny, informative and left us alone most of the time — no long stories about the history of the winery or how to properly taste wine.  They let us taste at our own pace.

But let me tell you, this tasting room was lovely.  And the wines were even better.  I have to say that I’ve never tried a series of white wines with the kind of concentration that this wine maker managed to pull off.  Albarino, Sauv Blanc and Viognier — just stellar.  94-95 pts easily.

The reds were full concentration, ripe, long finishing.  I even bought a Petite Verdot untasted (that’s not like me) and had it that night.  It was not disappointing, let’s just put it that way.  This is a place we will return to again when we visit the Everett, Washington area.
