Siduri Wine Bar & Lounge
The Healdsburg area just north of Santa Rosa, California, is a hotbed for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The rivers in the area and the proximity to the ocean make for warm days and cool nights, perfect for Pinot and Chard ripening.
Siduri is located on the main drag in Healdsburg. The tasting room/wine bar is a spacious area with lots of seating with modern decor. The cool thing about the place is that they have a record player and a whole bunch of old 75rpm records — which they encourage the guests to play.
Each time we have been to Siduri, we get treated so nicely. On many occasions they will have more pinot open than is on the tasting menu, that they’re happy to pour. Also, we have never been in there when you couldn’t find a seat.
But enough of the lounge. What about the wine!? On the wall in the front area there is a map of all the places where they source their wine:
They source grapes from all the way up in Oregon all the way to Santa Barbara. They cover a lot of ground. They put out at least 18 different single vineyard Pinots each year. That does not include their regional Pinots that you will regularly find in grocery stores and Total Wine. And that is a lot of Pinot.
If you are just getting into the realm of Pinot Noir, Siduri is a great place to get your start. You will taste Pinots from all over the west coast. And soon you’ll get a penchant for certain regions like we did. This is a great place to explore the world of Pinot Noir.
